Contact and Life & Work
Elders and District Visitors can uplift these from the large hall after morning worship.
This very special service, lasting about 45 minutes, will be held on Sunday 1 December starting at 3.00pm. We know that for many people, Christmas exacerbates the feelings of loneliness or loss and sometimes just makes the challenges of everyday life seem that bit more difficult. We want to recognise this and offer to the whole community a quiet, contemplative space. This service was very well received last year and we extend a warm invitation to all to come along and share this special time. Anyone wishing to join us for tea or coffee in the hall after the service will be made most welcome.
As always, our prayer table for the month of November is dedicated to the memory of those who both service personnel and civilians have lost their lives as a result of conflict. We also pray that mankind will learn to live in peace. The prayer group continues to meet in the sanctuary on a Sunday between 10.15 and 10.30am. Please place your prayer requests in the box at the prayer table. Be assured that those are handled with confidentiality.
The Remembrance Tree will be in the Praise Corner from Sunday 1 December. This year, the tree is being sponsored on behalf of Robin House, the Children's Hospice at Balloch. Gift tags will be left in the basket by the tree for us to write our message and leave our donation.
Christmas Tree Festival
Our Christmas Tree Festival will be held this year on Friday 6 (from 2.00-8.00pm) and Saturday 7 December (from 10.00am until 4.00pm). There will be Carol singing both days and our Choir will join us on Saturday morning. Tickets are £3 per adult and £1 per child, pay at the Church door. Tea/coffee and Christmas goodies will be served in the large hall with the usual stalls also in the hall. The Christmas quiz is now available, donation 50p. Trees are still available to be sponsored at £20 each. It would be helpful if the sponsors could let Janette McFarlane or Margaret Wren know of their intention by today, 17 November.
