THE GUILD

The Guild is a movement within the Church of Scotland to invite and encourage all people, male or female, to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and to enable them to express their faith in worship, prayer and action.
The Guild Hymn

Inspire us Lord, give us strength and courage
to serve with grace, unselfish and sincere
Commit our lives. Supporting one another
with hope and peace replacing hurt and fear
Reach out and help with love and with compassion
give strength and hope to those who are in need
to work as one, to change the lives of many
Express our faith in worship, prayer and deed.

So Lord, awaken us to every challenge
With confidence, determined to succeed
Let us act justly, always showing mercy
Break down the walls, transform lives indeed
With willing hearts, we gladly serve the Lord our God
In Him we trust and in Him we believe
And reach beyond our every expectation
Let us have faith in all that we can achieve.

Kilsyth Burns & Old
Parish Church Guild
As we approach the end of an era, at this moment we are not quite sure how and where our Guild will continue, but we are ever hopeful we will stay together and enjoy the camaraderie and companionship we have all provided for each other and had for so many, many years.

For decades, we have had so many great speakers and events at our meetings, and in addition, we have had St Andrew's Day Celebrations, Christmas lunches, Burns Suppers and Summer outings and these will be fondly remembered for a very long time to come by so many members, both past and present.

Like many other groups and organisations, we were greatly affected by the impact of Covid, but if anything, our Guild came back stronger and better as a result of this and this is also when all our members agreed afternoon meetings would be better, and it would be fair to say every member thought that is was so much bettr than going out at nights, especially during the winter months.

The present Committee would like to thank all our members now and for so many years in the past, most sincerely for their amazing support and commitment to Kilsyth Burns & Old Guild and hope we will all get together again in the near future.
