June Fayre 2019

Our June Fayre was held this year on Saturday 1 June and opened by our minister, the Rev Bob.

The stalls and tearoom, not to mention the strawberries and ice cream, were all soon doing well. Happy laughter and chatter could be heard. The sum raised on the day for our church funds was an excellent £2,683.33, then we received donations and items were sold from the tables left in the hall. The following Saturday, 8 June saw us with our usual 20p stall at the beginning of Civic Week. This raised £159, so as at 9 June the total for this year's June Fayre stands at the magnificent total of £3,115 with donations still coming in.

Sincere thanks to all the helpers and to the very generous church family and friends who came along to support us, as well as our stall at the Civic Week opening day.

Our June Fayre will be held this year on Saturday 1 June and will be opened by our Minister, the Rev Bob. There will be stalls in both the church halls and, weather permitting, in the church grounds.

There will be a bottle stall, so bottles with non-alcoholic contents (such as shampoo, sauce etc) will be gratefully received as well as donations for the White Elephant, Books, Gifts, Surprise Bags, Toys and Home Baking stalls.  Teas will be served in the large hall with strawberries and ice cream being served in the gazebo outside and, of course, there will be a bouncy castle.

As was said last month, a new idea is a "Christmas stall" with those ornaments that we have not used for a couple of years. We all have them, so please bring them along and donate them to our new stall.  We will also be having a Candle stall so if you have any you are not likely to use, please bring them along also. We are sure we can find them a new home.

The quiz this year is "Nostalgia" and will be available soon.

The next planning meeting is on Tuesday 7 May at 7.00 pm in the lower hall; please come along to this meeting if you are able to help in any way.
