Great website! , as someone whose wife and her family hail from Kilsyth and are keen church members,
I am delighted to see that this church is firmly on the map and available to anyone wishing to browse
on the world wide web.
Although, living in the North West , we come back home several times as year and always manage a visit
to Kilsyth and Old Burns Parish.
Keep up the good work!

I enjoyed worshipping in this church during my summer holiday in Kilsyth. I was able to join Marion and John Leckie one Sunday. I loved the whole experience as well as the building and the church's history.
I maintain my own church's website www.andoverchurch.org so feel free to visit.
I have been reading a book on Celtic Spirtuality by J. Philip Newell called LISTENING TO THE HEARTBEAT OF GOD. It reminded me to look into the history of this old church and to my surprise John sent me this link which helped answer some of my questions. The beauty of the surrounding country just took my breathe away. I had a great vacation and loved every minute of it.
Bless you all, Cathy

Many thanks to Margaret Muir, Elder, for booklet on Kilsyth Burns and Old Parish Church, signed by it's author Bill Gracie, plus leaflet.

I have just discovered this excellent web site. I have not seen this church since about 1965 when I knew it as Kilsyth Old Parish Church. I do not remember so much grass and trees all around, just gravel. It really has changed dramatically and is a huge improvement.
My father and mother were married here in 1940.
My half sister was also married here in 1942, to a Canadian soldier who was to be badly wounded 10 days later on the Dieppe Raid. The Minister at that time was J.Russell Miller.
I am hoping to return to Scotland within the next two years.
Returning to the church of my youth is a MUST!!
Congratulations to those whose faith and hard work make all this happen.
Regards,
Robert Allan
